WHO WE ARE

High Peak Pet Funeral services was founded in 2009 by Tony & Lesley Welling.  Since then, we have established a reputation for excellence in providing a quality pet funeral service tailored to the wishes of the individual pet owner in and around the High Peak area.

Tony retired from Derbyshire Police in 2009 after 31 years service, the last 18 of these as a Sergeant based in Buxton. Lesley has also retired from Derbyshire Police as a member of support staff at Buxton after 33 years. With 64 years of public service between us we aim to recreate an old-fashioned standard of customer service that many businesses seem to have abandoned in modern times.

OUR HISTORY

As owners of pets ourselves, we know the pain and sense of loss their parting leaves with us. We felt the helplessness that came with the realisation that there was no local alternative to leaving them with the vets for ‘disposal’ and because of this we resolved to start a pet funeral service that clients could come to with the full confidence that their pets would be treated with the same dignity, care, compassion and professionalism that we felt were missing when we most needed them.

Initially we served the Buxton area of Derbyshire but as our reputation grew we expanded to cover the Greater Manchester, Cheshire, Staffordshire and South Yorkshire areas.

• • WE ARE MEMBERS OF THE ASSOCIATION OF PRIVATE PET CEMETERIES & CREMATORIA.

This is the only organisation in the whole of Europe that sets strict standards for the pet bereavement industry.We follow its Code of Practice at all times.

• • WE ARE ALSO PROUD TO BE MEMBERS OF THE DERBYSHIRE COUNTY COUNCIL ‘TRUSTED TRADER’ SCHEME.

Consistently high feedback has to be sent in anonymously to the Derbyshire County Council Trading Standards Dept by our satisfied clients in order for us to retain our membership of this scheme.

OUR LOCATION

Although our services are in demand as far afield as Manchester, Stockport, Cheshire, South Yorkshire, Nottinghamshire and Derbyshire, pet owners are welcome to contact us from anywhere in the country. High Peak Pet Funeral Services is situated one mile to the south of Buxton in the heart of the beautiful Peak District and on the edge of open countryside.

We are located in a quiet corner of the Harpur Hill Business Park. Our premises have been renovated and refurbished to provide a first-class pet crematorium which we believe ranks amongst the best in the country. As well as private car parking, including a disabled space, we have a ‘Farewell Room’ where you can say a final ‘goodbye’ in peace and privacy for as long as you wish. This room also contains a selection of caskets and other tributes from which you can make a selection appropriate to your needs.
